Good evening families, this is Mr. Wolin, calling to provide you with some information and reminders. First, please remember that tomorrow, Thursday, September 13th will be our school open house. Open house is scheduled from 6:00-7:15. Please report to your child’s classroom at 6:00. We are excited to share what we have been working on to start the year!
Also, please remember that we are currently running our school fundraiser. The funds raised by this fundraiser go back to support the school and the classrooms. Please consider supporting the school by purchasing items from our fundraiser.
Finally, on September 27th, we will have state mandated hearing and health screenings for grades K through 3. If your child wears glasses, please make sure your child brings them to school on that day. If you refuse to have your child participate in the hearing and health screenings, a letter must be provided to the school prior to September 24th.
Thank you, and we hope to see you tomorrow at open house!

Good evening Locke families, this is Mr. Wolin calling with two pieces of information. First, if you are a walker, you must adhere to the School Crossing Guard while crossing the road. It is not safe to cross Trouble Creek without the assistance of the School Crossing Guard.
Additionally, please remember that there is no school this Monday, September 3rd, in recognition of Labor Day.
Thank you and have a great night!

Good evening Locke Eagles, this is Mr. Wolin, calling to thank everyone for a wonderful first day of school! We were so happy to have our eagles back on campus and to start the important work of teaching and learning. Remember, regular attendance is crucial in keeping students on-track academically, so please make every effort to be here each day. I want to share a few reminders, as we head into day two. First, please be patient the first few weeks in both the car loop pickup area, as well as in waiting for the buses to get to their stops in the afternoon. The afternoon dismissal will improve by week three of school. In the car loop, we need all parents to stay in their cars and to let our staff load their children. Also, please help with safety, by having car seats setup only on the passenger side, so that staff can get students safely in and out near the curbside. Finally, please make sure that you are displaying your car tag that was provided to you this year. Thank you for your support in making the start of the year successful. We look forward to seeing all of our eagles back at school tomorrow for day two!

Good evening Locke Eagles, this is Mr. Wolin, calling to remind all of our families that school starts this Monday, August 13th. We are so excited to have our eagles return to our campus and to all the exciting events that we have planned. We want to remind families that during the first few weeks we are getting our routines and procedures in place, and we appreciate your patience during that time. As we get into the year, all of our procedures start to work more efficiently, and you will notice an improvement with car loops, bus dismissals, and so forth.
We also understand that many times parents want to escort their children to the classroom door. For the first week of school, families may choose to walk their child to the classroom door. At the end of the first week, in order to keep our campus safe and foster student independence, we will not be allowing parents to come into classrooms when dropping students off. If you need to talk with your child’s teacher, please arrange a conference date and time with them. If you are visiting our campus, you must check in at our front office to obtain a visitor’s badge.
We additionally want to introduce our new School Safety Guard, Mr. Murphy. Mr. Murphy will be assisting our campus in regards to safety and security and will consistently be working to monitor and support a safe campus. As you see Mr. Murphy throughout the year, make sure to say hello and welcome him to our school community.
Finally, a few reminders for the start of the year. Please, please, please, make sure you child’s teacher knows how your child is to go home at the end of the day. It would be beneficial to write your child’s first and last name on items such as lunch boxes, backpacks, and outerwear.
Again, we are excited for the first day of school and look forward to a wonderful school year!

Good evening Locke Eagles, this is Mr. Wolin, calling to remind all of our families that tomorrow from 9:00-2:00 is our Meet the Teacher and Registration Day. You will report to the cafeteria and stop at multiple stations for important information about the school year. If you have already come in this summer with your proofs of residency, please bring the Orange ticket that you received with you, as that will allow you to jump some lines. Also, if you have a Government Assistance Case Number, please bring documentation of that to provide to our staff to make the process for Free or Reduced Lunch much faster. Finally, if you go online and create an Acorn account for your student and pay your School Fees prior to tomorrow, your child will receive a free Locke Spirit Keychain! You can find directions on how to do that on our school Facebook page. We are excited to see all of our students and families tomorrow. We recognize that this process can take some time, so we thank you in advance for your patience and positive attitude as we want to make sure every student and family is prepared and ready to start the school year!

Hello Mittye P. Locke Families,
This is Mr. Wolin calling to let you know that Free and reduced-price meal applications for the 2018-19 school year are now available on the District Website. If you already received a Direct Certification letter, you do not need to complete an application, and only one application is needed per household. Also, please remember that we need all returning and new families to provide updated 3-proofs of residency in order for your child to be enrolled and assigned a teacher for 18-19. If you have not already done so, you may bring those in any day next week to our front office. They can then provide you with a ticket to jump the line at Registration Day. If you do not bring the proof of residency documents prior to registration day, you will have a longer wait on that day and will need to provide the 3-proofs at that time, so that we can enroll and assign your child to a teacher. Thank you and have a great evening!

Make sure that you read over the letter, as it will contain more detailed information. Thank you, and have a great summer!

Hello Locke families, this is Mr. Wolin calling with some school information. As we end the year tomorrow, we remind families that we still have many items in our lost and found. Please stop by and check for any clothing items your child may have misplaced this year. Tomorrow will also be our Grade 5 Promotion Ceremony in the cafeteria at 10:00 am. Also, we still have class pictures for sale for $12 and yearbooks for sale for $21. Finally, the State has not yet released the grade 3 FSA results. Once Pasco County Schools receives the results from the State, we will be sending a school phone message out to inform families. Thank you again for a wonderful school year and have a safe and happy summer!
