Hello Locke Families, and Happy Friday! This is Mr. Wolin, calling with two pieces of important information. First, I am calling to reiterate that the District will not be printing or mailing Report Cards for Quarter 4. You will need to access your child’s report card through the online Parent Portal. If you do not have a Parent Portal Account, please go to our school website for directions or come to our help session that will be held at our Night of the Arts on May 3rd here at Locke. Second, please remember that next week we will have grades 3 and 5 participating in State assessments. This means that we will be having a quiet campus, and will not be allowing visitors. Thank you and have an enjoyable weekend!
April 12, 2018-
Good evening, this is Mr. Wolin from Mittye P. Locke, calling to ask for your assistance. We have seen a rise in car loop issues at dismissal, with individuals parking on the grass, individuals coming in to the incorrect loop, issues with taking turns in merging, and with drivers use of cell phones while the car loop dismissal procedure is taking place. We recognize that the car loop can get crowded and at times frustrating. We ask that everyone be patient and adhere to the procedures and policies that we have put in place, as they are to keep all of our students and campus visitors safe. Additionally, we want to remind our families that grades 4 and 5 will be starting their FSA testing next week. It is important that families arrive on time. Thank you, and have a good evening.

Good evening families, this is Mr. Wolin, your child’s principal, calling to remind you that this Monday, March 5th, our 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in the State FSA Writing Assessment. It is critical that your child is on time on Monday and ready to show what they know. Due to the testing, we will not be allowing any volunteers on campus on Monday and we will not be allowing any families to have lunch on campus on Monday. We appreciate your understanding in keeping the campus quiet during the testing dates throughout the year. We will communicate future testing dates, as they get closer.
Also, we had a power line breaker explode this afternoon and a yard neighboring the school briefly caught fire. We were able to extinguish the fire, but the fire department and the power company did come out to assess the situation as well, so you may hear stories about fireman on campus today. No students and no school grounds were involved in the situation, and everyone was safe.
Thank you everyone, and have a tremendous evening!

Any child being picked up by car, must do so in our front loop. The Sheriff Department is patrolling the back area and are considering closing the backgate completely, if families continue to not follow the procedures.
